Sunyani Airport, officially commissioned for commercial activities!

The Sunyani Airport which was shut down in 2015 by the Mahama led administration has been rehabilitated and commissioned by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, president of the Republic of Ghana.
In a a brief but colorful ceremony held at the premises of the Airport which saw the commissioning of the project, the President indicated his government’s preparedness to transform the country’s aviation industry into a preferred choice in Africa.

Touching on the various aviation projects across the regions being championed by the NPP government under his stewardship, the president mentioned the Upgrading of the Kumasi International airport phase two and three which is 93% complete.
He again referenced the Tamale Airport phase 2 which is 95% complete.

The Ho airport which he only inherited paper works has been completed and commissioned for use.
Speaking on the phase 2 of the Sunyani Airport which is expected to commence soon, the president called on Nananom, the land commission, Ghana civil aviation to help the government protect airport lands across the country.
He assured the people of Sunyani and the Bono Region of how dear they are to him and his government.

He also invited the country to stand with his government as they transform it together.
With the president were, his Ministers of state, Members of Parliament(MP) in the Region including the two MPs of Sunyani East and West who hosted the event ie: Hon Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh ( Board Chairman of Bui Power Authority), Hon Baffour Awuah ( Minister in Charge of Employment and Labour Relations) respectively. MMDCES also including the host MCEs , Hon Ansu Kumi of Sunyani Municipal and Hon Evan Kusi Boadum of Sunyani West Municipality, Nananom, the clergy and transport operators.
Announcing the official commissioning of the project to give room for the take off of commercial activities, the President informed Nananom and the people that, Passion Air which is one of the leading domestic airline companies in the country has secured a space within the airport facility to commence air transport operations with immediate effect, hence, the airport has been duly inaugurated with the phase two soon to take off.
